Didn't know about that site. Thanks
Here is a related article about the wind.

A Rough Day In The Gorge: 122 mph!
January 24, 2014

The pressure gradient between The Dalles and Portland got up to around 11 millibars, a huge drop in pressure from eastside to westside allowed the air to accelerate down the west end of the Gorge and really nail Vista House. The 122 mph gust showed up on Matt Sloanís Maximum anemometer. Youíll notice itís pegged at the top too, the scale doesnít go any higher.
site has some good wind voids and mention car doors breaking being opened in the wind.

Another one I frequent is Cliff Mass from the university of Washington. He has a pretty good blog, but he is based in Seattle, but a lot of his information covers the entire NW.

Mark also has a weather links page off of his Blog that has some useful information. I need to start getting into snowpack information, it's still latin to me.

Cliff Says:

But I have some major news. The weather pattern looks like it will shift on Tuesday and precipitation will return to Oregon and Washington starting early Tuesday. Finally. And this shift has implications for the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb 2, as I will talk about in a future blog.
Oregon has a few smaller ski resorts that have not opened.
Lots of temp workers really need this. Its not just river recreation.

The wind is pretty much a rainfall river, so timing it is mostly luck until spring rains come.

I am a river, babe - I've got plenty of time, I don't know where I'm going, I'm just following the lines..... - "We are water" by Shaye
