Rocking trip at 5.9-6.5'
Hey Lance - good meeting you. Sounds like you guys rocked it. Sorry again about the boxers but I had been soaked since about 8 am that day. It seemed ok when I started walking over and then I saw ladies on the trip and that made me want to go hide but I already had my momentum going. Anyway it was good to meet you.
We did indeed launch on Tuesday with all of our shuttle people running Marsh while we rigged. 4 kayaks and an R2 raft. Convoluted logistics as we thought at any time they would slap a barrier up after we got in.
The log you had to portage in Dagger was there Monday night when we got in but with rising flow it had disappeared around the time it peaked. Those in our group who saw said it was truly ugly as well. The weird thing is even this early and our group being first in, in the places where the road was not snow covered it was already DUSTY.
Some of those in the USFS have recently accused me/we/us of using plows or other forbidden implements. Not so. I have never violated any part of FS law as I won't even think about endangering my ability to float the MF. So it is always legit. Amazing what a small group of dedicated people can do with shovels and elbow grease.
