Hello - I am in town Wednsday 8/5 thru Sunday 8/10 would love to expierience anything suggested class 3-4 will have boat and shuttle vehicle and have no idea where to go in CO besides the golden park.

Staying in the Golden / Estes park area - will return the favor if you ever get to California....

Hey there, There's another playpark in Lyons (down the road from Estes) if your looking for something close...There are a couple fun spots to play there.
Clear Creek has a couple runs that are favorites around here so keep your eyes peeled for people getting together for that...
I think the Ark (in Buena Vista) is about to be done for the season but if you make down there, there are a couple of runs (Brown's, Numbers) that you might enjoy.
Hope that helps a little.
I'll be in Lyons tomorrow evening after work if you're looking for someone to boat with!
Feel free to give a call or a text 303.444.4713
Good luck,

the ark (numbers) can be run in a 12' raft at 600 cfs a little bony but still fun in a kayak should be able to be run lower should be above 700cfs when you here. I'd be willing to help shuttle browns if I can get a crew. let me know

Water is too low most places as we are late in the season. There are a few III/IV options running though. Clear creek is done except for the playpark.

Foxton run on the north fork south platte just came on with dam release. Its a fun III+ run. 300 is low, but still a good time. Its about 1 hr from golden.

Waterton is a short section downstream of foxton that is III+, about a mile long, and you hike back to the car when you are done.

The arkansas river is running low and royal gorge, numbers, or browns canyon are all still worth it at lower levels. Good late season III/IV options. The ark is a bit over 2 hrs from golden.

Shoshone is in too. Its short (1 mile) class III near glenwood, and there is a playwave in town at glenwood as well. Its a bit over 2 hrs from golden as well.

My two cents would be hit foxton and the ark. Probably best bang for your buck.

If you want more info, check for online guidebook write ups for all of the above sections.

Have fun!
