Mountain Pie Recipes

Waasssuupp Everyone! A friend of mine sent me some recipes that I thought would be great on the river. They are made to cook in the mountain pie makers. If you have not tried one, you have to pick one up! They are great for making dinner or for a midnight muncheee... You can get them at walmart for about $10 or so each

Old Mountain Pie/Sandwich Cast Iron

Give em a try and let me know what you think...

Refrigerated Pizza Dough or bread
Mozz Cheese

Meatball Sammy
French Bread
Meatballs - sliced
Mozz Cheese

Chicken Cordon Bleu Wraps
Flour Tortillas
Sliced Chicken breast

Taco Sandwich
Flour or corn tortillas
Seasoned Ground Beef – well drained
Refried Beans
Serve with sour cream, salsa, guacamole

Barbecue Pork Sandwiches
French Bread sliced
BBQ Pork
BBQ sauce
Cheddar Cheese

Cuban Sandwich
Honey or Brown Sugar Ham
Roasted Shredded Pork
Swiss Cheese
Dill Pickle slices
Optional : Mustard

Chicken Pot Pie
Refrigerated Biscuit dough
Diced Chicken
Cream of Chicken Soup
Canned Mixed Veggies

“In N Out” Grilled Cheese
Egg Hamburger Buns – may need to trim edges
Sliced American Cheese (2 or 3 slices per sandwich)
Tomato – Sliced thin, seeds removed
Grilled Onions
Thousand Island

Veggie Pesto Pie
French Bread
Basil Pesto
Roasted Red Peppers (well drained)
Sliced Mushrooms (can use canned)
Provologne Cheese
Optional: Sliced Italian Sausage

Seafood Sandwich
Spinach Tortilla
Prepared Spinach Artichoke Dip (from costco)
Crab Meat (canned or imitation)
Grilled Shrimp

Spicy Italian Pie
French Bread
Banana peppers / peperoncini
Spicy Mustard
Italian Dressing

Patty Melts
Sourdough Bread
Ground Beef
Cheddar Cheese
Sauteed Onion
Thousand Island

Chicken BBQ Pie
French Bread or flour tortilla
Sliced Chicken Breast
BBQ Sauce
Mont Jack Cheese
Diced Green Chiles


Cinammon Raisin Pie
Cream Cheese
Brown Sugar

Peaches and Cream Pie (or cherries)
Refrigerated Crescent rolls
Peach Pie filling
Cream Cheese

Turtle Pies
Refrigerated Crescent rolls
Caramel cubes
Hershey’s chocolate squares

“Ambrosia Salad” Pie
Refrigerated Crescent rolls
Drained Fruit cocktail
Fresh Green Apple Slices
Prepared Vanilla Pudding
Mini Marshmallows

Apricot Cheese Pie
Pie Dough
Apricot Preserves
Gorgonzola Cheese

Banana Split Pie
Angel Food Cake slices

I used to be the Mountain Pie King many years ago. You obviously are the MAN now. I am glad to see it coming back-its a kind of a lost art now. After a little bit of Jack Daniels its amazing what you come up with for that thing. Thanks for the recipes. I always used bread-the idea of dough and crescent rolls is genius. I am bringing two on my Deso trip next week.

I got another one for Breakfast-

fucking delux..wish i could figure out a cheesburger with one. usually go with the hot ham and cheese on bread or pie filling on bread. damn tasty.

I forgot about those little cookers!! I used those all the time when camping as a kid with my parents. That's the best thing for car camping or river trips!! Nice recipes man!!! Very creative!! I gotta go buy one now!!! Thanks again for the reminder and recipes!!
