Montrose Whitewater Park - Still enough water?

Hi there,

Looking at driving through Grand Junction & thought I might detour to Montrose as I recently read of the new play park. Anyone know what it is like now and for the next week?

Also, any recommendations for camping - preferably dispersed camping in Natl Forest or BLM but open to any suggestions.

I was out there last week and it is still really fun. I think more fun than at high flows. The second drop is a good surf wave and only a couple of the drops are too low to do much on. I'm not sure how long it will be flowing for. Check the flow site before heading this way.

There is a lot of dispersed camping on BLM and NF southwest of town on the Uncompaghre Plateau. But, rifle season just started and it will be busy up there with hunters. You can camp in the Gunnison Gorge NRA near the Sidewinder trail, which has some pretty cool spots.

Thanks for all your feedback

Appreciate all the comments.
Will have to put the boat on the car and check it out.
Sounds fun and hope to find a nice spot to camp as well.
