Moab Daily Questions

We're thinking about passing Take Out Beach and using the Moab Boat ramp. Does this add 2hrs to the float? Do the afternoon winds start cranking around 4/5 so it's not worth the effort?

If we did use Take Out Beach, can you back down to the water? We did this float a couple of years ago and I don't think you could back all the way down.

I have a quote from Coyote Shuttle for $85 for either Take Out Beach or Moab Boat ramp. I didn't see many other options on shuttle service?

It's supposed to be 78 on Fri and 79 on Sat. Should make for a nice early season float.

The ramp at take out beach is at lease 3 trucks wide and goes down to the water and hitching from Take Out to Hittle is way easy.

You must not be trying too hard if you can't find a shuttle in Moab. Seriously, they have like 16 outfitters.

the water is low hittle to take out is you best option. After take out it is slow going. If you want a long day go dewey to takeout. But going slow with some stops hittle to take out will be a great day. Call Red river adventures for a shuttle 435-259-4046. They will give you a good deal if they can fit you in.

Thanks for the information. I think we'll float the traditional Hittle to Take Out Beach. I called Red River Adventures and they normally give you their shuttle drivers name but they said he's left the area. I'll probably try to hitch a ride.

"Take out beach" is not the ramp. BLM Takeout is the ramp (mile marker 10) on the hwy. Easy to hitch, Drive down and park. Then hitch a ride back to your boat. (Put your PFD on and stand next to your vehicle with your thumb out).

You might try porcupine shuttle. They're a bit cheaper than coyote (I think), or you could likely hitch on the weekend, especially considering the forecast. Black dog is out of business these days. another option would be to stop by canyon voyages and about options...ask for Sheri.

Hittle to Take-out beach is perfect at lower levels. Not too long, not too short. I had to wait about an hour to catch a ride though with many people looking at me funny standing by the side of the road (it might have been the banjo).
