Midwest Class II-III

I have a week off of work in early August and I'm looking for a place to paddle some beginner to intermediate white water. I've paddled a few rivers including the Yampa from Deerlodge to Split Mountain. Also, looking for something relatively close (max of 8 hours ) to Lincoln, NE. Iowa has a few new parks that would not be bad, but I would prefer a river if you know of any good places that are still runnable in August.

Thanks for all the advice.
