I go by the Leave No Trace guidelines on the Salmon/challis recreational page:
Salmon-Challis National Forest - Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness
these apply mostly to not disrupting the sensitive ecosystem of the river and preserving the experience for all to enjoy.
If there are some other regulations I'd sure like to know about them.
the zodi 8170 is gas only with a manual pressurizer (very similar to a fire extinguisher).
I think the motor/pumps restrictions would refer to gas powered like a chainsaw or a motorized watercraft. The pump on my filtration system is probably similar to the electric Zodi. It hums and and I would describe its sounds as more like a breast pump, and could not be heard over the sound of the river.
Speaking of well endowed breasts, my wife would probably not do a June 1 trip unless it was unseasonably warm that time of year on the lower sections of the river. So if you invited her (and her bodyguard, Me) on a trip sometime around mid July you'd stand the best chances of spotting a "Bare" on the trip
Anytime before then you'd just have another cold bitchy woman trying to stay warm and making everyone else miserable
