2011 was a very normal snowpack that just kept snowing until June. That is why we didn't get a 10 or 11 foot peak but I think it was more like 7.5 ft.
At the same time as last year Banner and Deadwood Snotels are showing more snow and SWE than they did last year at the same time.
Banner grew to 34.5 SWE and we are at 29.5 right now but warming up.
At the same time more low elevation snow is gone than last year at the same time. Everything will be affected by how hot how quick and how much more snow.
If we stay on this pattern and then get sudden heat and melting it could easily get to 8 or 9 feet in early June, but I think it may stay moderate in temps. Last year stayed so moderate temps wise that it never did.
The further North the more snow too, which will bring the level up later in the year as well.
And then I just sniff real hard. Here in the Wood River valley I can smell what's going on over the hill.......
