Middle Fork march

What's the MF Salmon like in March/April? I'm looking around for some good self-support kayak trips, and haven't found much info about folks running it or the Main this time of year.
Of course...I know it totally depends year to year on snowpack...but is it typically lined with ice and snow past mid-March?
Love any thoughts! I've also got the warmer-weather classics on the list, including jarbidge/bruneau, owyhee explorations, illinois with a nice weather window, etc.

Lots of folks think April is way too early to go. You may want to check out this thread, could answer questions you've got.

Heck, the Desert rivers in Utah are often just barely ice-free by March, not sure what kind of time you'd have in ID...

Good luck getting on the water!

Yeah, that's what I figured. It's funny being up in the PNW and having amazing runs in the winter, forgetting that it's not quite so elsewhere....
