You definitely cannot take a raft down Red River. It's a beautiful secluded little run with a lot of class IV boulder garden style drops with the crux of about four IV+ drops having a solid gradient. Definitely need to be comfortable catching micro-eddies to slow things down. We did it last May at about 130. This was more or less a minimum flow. All the blind corners were woodless and the main drop with the massive tree was totally runnable (but a little consequential). There was supposedly a huge flash in there in the fall that brought a huge river-wide log into one of the crux drops making a mandatory portage. If you get in there, be VERY heads up and on top of your game.
