jennifer....just read this thread today and was wanting to know the type of plastic slalom boat you're paddling. Is this a new available boat or one of the old school plastic slalom boats like the Perception Fox or Reflex? I'm in the market for such a boat and would appreciate any info you can provide.

Tomcat, it is just an old Fox. It is a fun boat though. Durable and fast.

thanks jennifer. If you don't mind much do those sale for used nowadays? Prolly hard to find thou.

also...aren't you the jennifer I paddled with a few years ago thru the Gorge with Ed Hansen? You were talking about getting into slalom boats at the time. Are you a serious slalom racer or just enjoying it casually?

Yep that's me. I didn't think you would remeber me! I don't race at all. I just like getting out the long boat a few times a year and working on technique. You don't realize how slopy you get with your strokes when paddling the short play boats these days. I paid $350 for mine 7 years ago. I haven't seen one for sale since, so I really lucked out.

I remember you very well. Thanks for the info about the you wanna sale it?

I still have my old glass/kevlar slalom boat from the 80s but it's in poor condition....having paddled it as my only boat for six years....many races....down arky rivers/creeks and even a low water run on Chatooga section 4....back in the day. The front foot of the boat is held on with duct tape...with barely any hull left under the seat. Leaks bad. If you hear about a Fox for sale...please remember me.
