wouldn't mind us tagging along on Browns and some other sections of the Ark. over the next 8 days or so.
Will be in Salida friday some time. Will just be my wife and I on Friday and another couple with us the rest of the week. My wife is probably the least confidant paddler in the group (while she is still a great boater in class III, IV- stuff). Three playboaters and one riverrunner playboater in the group. We are from the SE and I guess the most difficult stuff we run as a group would be middle Ocoee, middle Tellico, Pigeon, Chattooga section 3 and 3.5, etc. (That would be the runs my wife is good to go on. She has been on some more difficult stuff in California a few years back too). The rest of us probably top out at around class IV so stuff like Wilsons, lower Big Creek, Upper Ocoee, etc.
Anyways, I would be good reading and running most everything on Browns and probably The Numbers at these low flows. Just would make things easier if we had someone who knew the lines so my wife and anyone else doesn't get uncomfortable the first trip down. I would much rather she have a first day that is too easy than too challenging.
PS - My wife and I have rafted Browns about six years ago at higher flows (not sure what the exact levels were but Pine Creek was cranking and we got to see a great boater X with some good boaters getting stuck in the hole
Kayaked The Fractions and a couple of easier sections of the Ark that I can't remember the names of.
Sorry I was a little long winded. Just wanted to make sure anyone who was willing to hook up with us knew what our skills are.
We would really appreciate it (I.E. - beers and possibly free dinner after paddling
Will be staying on the river in Salida all week so should be spending lots of time in the park playing (if the water isn't way too low for it).
Was thinking about trying to hook up with the group going to Browns on Friday I don't think we will be in Salida until that morning and we still have to check out gear into the place we are staying and rent gear from CKS so not sure if we would make it timewise or not?
