Also, CWWA has a intro, Kids Cruise July 12 on Deckers.

It may be too late in the season for this advice to be useful, and CO companies may run things different. However, I will give you my advice anyway.
Back in PA I guided on a class II (even though that advertised it as a III) river. Since it was pretty laid back, instead of putting guides in rafts, we just had guides in kayaks. 1 pointing the trip, 2 roam guides in charge of stopping and pointing out wear not to go and performing rescues, and 1 sweep in the back to clean up all the messes.
It was really easy, but it got me in my boat practically everyday for an entire summer. Got me very comfortable reading water, ferrying, and traveling upstream. It also built up my strength and confidence. Again, not sure if any companies out here run trips in a similar fashion, but it was a great way for me to get my skills up. Not to mention you get paid to do it, and meet lots of other boaters who are usually close in age.

Look if you really want to meet new kayakers that are serious about kayaking and may not be running class IV and V then you should go to golden play park tonight (wednesday) because Renaissance Adventure Guides is having a kayak with the instructors and there is going to be a ton of people there and you can probably find someone that would like to go kayaking on a regular basis with.
alright ill try and make it. is there any fee or anything? and what time?
