Brief Trip Report:
After the brief niceties of "who are you?" and "if I swim will you please save my paddle and tell my wife I swam doing the hero line on double knife rather than in an eddy @ the lawson play hole" we went up and scouted a bit then met and launched somewhere around 11. For the rest, I'd like to write in Milo-pentameter:
we charged in two groups... I was in the back... water was clear, cold, and hypnotic...play boats ahead squirted and zig-zagged but did not flip... we started with 8 and lunched with 7, losing one to a planned early take out.... during lunch a minor mutiny was forming... everyone was cold... we called each other pussies and got back on... through upper, more filps ensued ... I was no longer cold.... we dodged rafts ... we made it to black rock... another boater (names will be withheld) bailed out. Five ran black rock... two did rope safety.... another boater bailed after black rock... he ran it to prove he was no pussy... we still called him a pussy for quitting... four went to narrows ... two ran rope safety... we left the seventh at BR to think about his actions.... Five went to Rigo... four ran... Bruno watched... three ran rope safety... the final final five completed to golden... we were all toast... no poison ivy... perfect day for boating.
A big thanks to my wife, Mandy, for running chase, carrying the coolers and taking pictures!
Did I miss anything? Great day. Would boat with all of you again, any time.
On the river, I can abandon who I am and what I've done. However brief it lasts, while on the river I am nothing important and everything insignificant. I am flotsam, and happy to be so.
