Kayak School/Guide/River in Colorado - any recommendations?

Hi there,
I am from Europe (Austria) and will be on a business trip in Denver by next week. As I am a paddler I am looking for opportunities to paddle a little bit in Colorado for 3 or 4 days.
I have started paddling a couple of years ago and currently paddle class 2(-3) rivers so I am looking for some guided tours if possible. I am not sure if this is the right time of the year and I do not know anything about the rivers in Colorado...
thanks for any info or recommendations!

We are in prime boating season but that also means higher flows so factor that into your decisions.

I would contact Confluence Kayaks and Renaissance Adventure Guides to see what they have to offer both out of Denver as far as trips/instruction. I honestly don't know of any places that run guided tours per say for kayaking, its all more instruction based but with the class II-III should be up your alley. If you are willing to travel Colorado Kayak Supply in Buena Vista might have something as well.

Could always rent gear and try and hook up on some trips, posting here and a couple other forums might work out for you.

Hey back at ya. There are plenty of class III runs around here. Have you checked the trip planner on here? There are often trip posts... You can get info and flows on different runs on eddyflower.com. If you find a particular run, post it on here with a when and where and I bet you find paddlers to meet up with...Also, there's Renassaince in the Park at the Golden Play Park on Wednesdays. RA Guides is out there taking people down the creek. But there are usually plenty of people out there any other day too...I might be heading for some class II, III in Glenwood Springs next weekend (3hours away) if you want me to drop you an update next week, let me know. Cheers!

I would try to rent gear and figure out a river/section you want to do. Then post on here and try to find some people that want to do the same stretch. It would probably be more fun than paying a guide service. Browns canyon on the Arkansas would be a great section for you. You could always walk around the rapids you don't feel comfortable doing.

I love to dance, but who needs the music- It throws me off.
