The rapids were technical, but nothing really big. 2nd and 3rd drops are worth a scout for rocks still, 1st drop was straight down the middle. We did about 20 miles a day, which was a slog, a motor would have been nice but we did alright with a long night float. We camped about 4 miles above the confluence night two and did all but the last rapid day three. A motor for the lake would have been huge as the Dirty Devil (which was fine for a take out) was about 20 miles from when you really lose all current.
Tons of sand bars for camping and to avoid while rowing. Send a scout before you commit to a camp to check for waist deep mud.
