if you go from somerset (one M) down to Paonia be aware of the fire mountain canal just downstream, its chunky and shitty. cant say from there down although i would bet its not classic. high water may have taken care of any fences...
i would be very surprised if the road down the Lake Fork is closed right now. that area melts much earlier than the headwaters (where the water comes from) and is usually open this time of year. dont know, could be wrong, but again, would be really, really surprised to hear that it isnt. 389 is ok but not great. stay away under 500 (at least) if you are pushing rubber. would suggest waiting a little bit until it climbs above 600 or so. it gets really fun above 1000
