If it holds out until this weekend, Upper Taos Box, Anyone?

My friend, Wes, and I are going to run the upper box this weekend. Is anyone interested? We will leave on friday night and depending on logistics will probably run pillar saturday. Suday we will run the upper box. It the flow looks like it is descending then the box is our main goal and it will be paramount over pillar. We would like other people to come with us. we both are capable of running this gorge but anyone who knows lower level lines would be greatly appreciated on this expedition to hold onto summer for just a little while longer( although daytime temps will hardly resemble summertime, the boating will!). Any beta about rapids would be appreciated as well! Is the run above the upper box worth running instead of pillar? thanks for your help. See you guys on the water!

I don't know what it's running right now, but low water runs are very swiss cheesey. There has been a bunch of posts about this run on the Buzz, but they were a couple years ago. There is a guy named Atom who has taken lots of CO boaters down the upper box. He is the MAN when it comes to this run. I ran it a couple years ago with him and it would have been a freakin' muti-day trip if we couldn't have followed him. It isn't too hard a low flows, just the most sieved out run I've ever seen. Very hard to boat scout everything. I suggest trying to get a hold of Atom, from Taos, or Badkins, from the front range area (I think he was with Atom last spring). I don't mean to discourage you at all. You just should know that this is a tough river to navigate from your boat at a low flow. One drop through the wrong slot could mean bad news.
