Hey guys, new here go easy on me.
Last year me and five of my good friends decided that for our spring break we would canoe the Green River (Labyrinth/Stillwater). Our put in was Green River City, and our takeout was Mineral Bottom. As a group this would be our first canoe trip, and it was only a matter of time until we proved it. Our last day we woke to find all but one of our three canoes floating down the river in the rising flow. We managed to corral our canoes, and learned an important lesson. In the end we all had an amazing time, and left the river with the kind of memories you never forget!
Well it's coming up on that time again, and the same group of us want to tackle yet another river albeit this time with more grace!
I believe we completed last years trip in 5 days (70 miles). This year we're looking for about the same number of days but maybe a little shorter in length, and for those of you who've been on the Labyrinth, less wind! Something with more hiking/sightseeing, good camping. Some small rapids are okay nothing more than class II, mostly want to kick back and crack open some cold ones. We don't want a riverguide/babysitter.
-Looking for a river to canoe
-500 mile radius SLC, preferably UT
-5 days (+/- 60 miles)
-Good hiking, camping, sightseeing
-Camp fires must
-Vehicle accessible to takeout
Now I know beggers can't be choosers so if you have a river to suggest close to my standards let's hear it!
Right now we're looking at the "White River", but it's looking to be too short. Anyone been on this, what's your opinioins?
Thanks in advance,
