Appreciate all the input guys! Looks like we're doing the San juan 60 mile stretch from Mexican Hat to Clay Hills. Any sight seeing or hikes you recommend in between? We'll be reserving our camp spots tomorrow, and on the river by Monday!!!

Hopefully you know how to practice minimum impact camping. The San Juan is a heavily used river that's nice to float because those before you have protected it. Having fires is not an appropriate practice.

There are rapids on the San Juan between Sand Island and Mexican Hat that will give inexperienced canoeists trouble.
