Grand Canyon - October 2008

So... there is currently a lottery going on for two October dates, 10/26/08 and 10/27/08. I was on the 10/26 launch that was cancelled and trying to keep it going. Currently, there are only 30 applications for the four remaining 2008 dates (two mentioned above and two in November). So, the odds are about as good as they can be. Great time of year (historically highs in the low 80's, lows in the 50's, fairly dry). I'm hoping to tap into fellow boaters that are interested in launching on one of the two October dates, but is concerned about getting a crew together on short notice. I have a few people lined up, but would like to increase odds and get some more names in the lottery. Please PM me or respond here if you'd like to put a plan together.

My thought is to use a service like the 'Painless Private' as it will ease the planning given the short notice. Not opposed to doing it ourselves if someone would like to lead the food planning. (Alright, maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself).

Lottery closes Wednesday, 9/3/08 at noon MT.

There's some confusion... so, I thought I'd be a little more clear.

I DO NOT have a permit. A lottery is currently running. I'm hoping to get a group of people together to enter the lottery for the same dates that will hopfully invite each other if they win. This is an 'increasing the odds of getting a permit post' not a 'will you come on my trip' post.

we launch 0ct 31. looking forward to it. 10 guys 1 girl.....( no comments please, as the one girl is mine. no we don't share, and no, there's no barterin on that.) However, if your a solid boater, with at least a 16' raft, get in touch. its a south cove 20+ day trip, looking at about 1000$ bucks

sorry any other than 16' raft, need not apply. kayak spots are full.
