I find that once I've experienced the worst case scenario, I am OK with running any given rapid upside down and backwards, with no momentum, it is the hardest way to paddle! Especially on the poor, old, busted shoulders..I can't say that it's a good idea, but sometimes, shitappens. Better in tunnel than apple or gore or toilet...The swim out o toilet is sumpin else tho, so DEEP and DARK..
I'll try anything once..

yeah, it wasn't too bad. my first trip over tunnel upside down at 1100 was my best line yet really. right where you would want to be (see pic at left) if you were right side up. Greased it! (then swam). My next trip at 1800 I didn't get far enough left and went just right of the rock at the lip and was surprised to piton into something over the drop, skirt implosion, swam. Last time at 1600, once again looking at the fish as I went over the drop, hit every rock in the river. Hit a roll though, so I guess, really, I'm improving! And barely a week later and I can already put my t-shirt on by myself! Tunnel is in my head. I did once get stuck in Toilet and made it out inside my boat! That was cool. That line goes! Same line, Same river.
