good layover camp below diamond

we are running the grand this march and wondering of anyone has suggestions for good camps to layover at between diamond and pearce ferry. somethng with hiking opportunities and just a good place to hang for an extended time.

Surprise Canyon at mile 248 on right has a good beach and endless hiking up the canyon. Spent almost a week up there in 04 getting lost.
