Wow, you're killin me. Who is BigD? Must be a serious trustfunder if you manage to call BC, JH and Alta home. I must agree that I'm no Jeremy Norbis and Keystone is no JH, but just because you need to fly over a cliff on a chairlift to find it and huck, doesn't mean Keystone doesn't have the goods. After all Mozart was called the "Most dangerous trail in N. America" by the Post - take that Corbet's. Anyway, I'd offer to show you around, but I don't ski with trusters who have the most expensive everything every season and yet don't get after it enough to break the gear in. Got anything 'used' I could pick up besides your weak attitude?
On another vastly more interesting topic, Escalante is the shit. After several years of trying, I finally managed to make it out yonder. Great drops, great scenery, great boaters and awesome camping. Cheers to all who got out there and got'er done this week. The fin was covered, but I still thought it could have used a touch more water. Season's on!
Christine - my week is pretty full, I'll keep you in mind. Got a creek boat?
Joe - if you ski at Keystone, you can't keep up. period. but at least you know where the taint is.
Anyway, nice work getting her done on esca, did you fellers huck the falls? I only have a few more weeks of school, then ima go camp out at the green for a week and a half or so an run 'er every damn day...unless it rains and the horsey or other stuff comes in. oh yesh. on another note, I will be proceeding directly from cville to the embudo (via asheville and tulsa) if it is still running towards the end of may - hope we can meet there. over and out.
Yo Al. We skied the shit right out of the taint on Tuesday. Knee deep. Us fellers didn't huck the falls, but we did huck the rock - lots. Falls looked a lot like the move on Frankenstein with much worse consequences.
Also, it was good to see ya'll up at CU last night. Drop Ben the big congrads for gradu-M-akating! The best p-A-rt of the evening was wat-C-hing a hardened cree-K-boater swim in the pool, but I'm not naming names here.
Yo party people. Good to hear from you all. I'm back in town after a seriously twisted Loma/Westwater trip. My favorite part was watching one of the best kayakers I know toss a fully loaded gear boat in IV-. Bear creek this afternoon? I can meet at the takeout at 5pm. Call me, I might not check the buzz again today.
Joe
Aiiight. Bear Creek at 350. Barely runable, right Gary? It is good to hear you're back on the FR crew. I thought the creek was hot, but clean and smooth. Bummed I couldn't join in the show this week - sounds like that may have been a good thing. Rockin to the Embudo in the am. If you're in the neighborhood drop me a line, we could use help with shuttle. It's time to get after it.
Joe
So the embudo on tuesday at 3.2 was awesome. That's a great level for it, being from out of town. The embudo on wednesday at 3.5ish was a very humbling experience as our team imploded and got real loose. We're looking for a back carbon fiber werner paddle. Also, there is a green creek boat at the hike out notch. It is still in shape to paddle and if someone hikes in there an paddles it out, I have a reward. The hike out from long rapid on river left sucks. However, I didn't encounter any rattlers and it was cool with rain. It could have been way worse in the middle of the NM sun with buzzing at every step. With all the talk about the embudo this weekend, I should probably repeat what others have said: if you don't know it real well definitely check in below 3.3 or be one of those sickos that talk mad shit on the buzz. I'm gonna lick some wounds and earn some cash for the rest of the week and I'll be back at it next week.
Yeah com'on
Joe
