Fire ban in Dinosour...Fire pan?

Our local news paper reported that Dino has a fire ban on wood and charchol. I have not asked Kelly at the river office, but does anyone know if Dino is like West Water and you must have a fire pan with you even with a fire ban in effect?

Bring it and if you don't need it you can just leave it in the car.

On the river, I can abandon who I am and what I've done. However brief it lasts, while on the river I am nothing important and everything insignificant. I am flotsam, and happy to be so.

Fire ban once you hit Utah effective June 11th. Also it was very windy so it wouldn't be smart to have a fire anyway.

If the river reg's say you need a fire pan and fire blanket you will still be required to bring them, even during a fire ban.

The ranger I asked said that you might need them in an emergancy, and that required gear was required on ALL trips.

I was on Lodore during a fire ban in '08 or '09 and they made us carry a fire pan. Came in handy as a ranger we saw at Jones Hole informed us the ban had just been lifted. Not often, but once in a while you get lucky!

Went to Dinisour today and talked to Kelly, you must have a pan or no launch.
