We were thinking Ruby/Horsethief (no Westwater permits), Upper C, Gunnison. The Chama was a maybe but decided that was to much driving.

The Piedra could be an option. Its probably flowing right now... I've never run it, but its on the list as a IV+ option. A bit higher and chillier than the Dolores though...

I've done the first 20 miles of the Dolores at 600 cfs in a 16 foot raft with one passenger. Had no trouble until the last 2 miles; the river widens considerable in these last 2 miles. Another possibility is to canoe the first 20 miles solo in a 15 or 16 foot canoe. With all this surface area on the water you may be able to canoe it at low levels. Any other suggestions for low water boating? The Dolores is such a sweet river; too bad it's been emasculated by the dam.
