Just got off the river today, the bugs are insne at take out, we camped at opposite stampede flat day 1, lots of bugs still, no firewood(but we had alot with us 3 duffles and a 3 bundles) we camped opposite dripping springs, bugs again, wood around(dripping springs was overgrown due to high water) we camped at a nice beach with some cactus and shade trees across from lion hollow( would of taken lion hollow but a group beat us to it. ran Joe hutch , not that bad start right move left the camped at opposite Mcpherson ranch wood, no bugs, aweome beach, torential rain watch where you put your tent as alot of the tent sites that were dry were in 6 inchs of water). Wire fence and three fords were run easly just follow the tounges. Rattle snake cam was real nice, careful though as the island has been cut in half by the river, hit the second section it is sweet. the river is going down so I am sure alot of the camps that were not there will be soon and wood will be found in alot of spaces but there is alot of standing water that can cause mosquitos.
8 adults, 4 kids under 10, 6 days on the river, it was a great trip. Hope you have the same!
