Decker Chutes tomorrow anyone?

Hey, I'm a competent class III+/IV- boater. Looking to boat the Decker Chutes in Denver tomorrow, or in the next few days. I've never been down, but I've heard good things. If you want to go, hit me up!

The Decker's chutes are up in the hills past Conifer... do you mean the Union Chutes?.... those are in Denver. If you are a proficient class three boater check out Waterton Canyon near the Decker's Chutes...

Hmmm, blizzard warning for tomorrow. Might want to evaluate this a bit more and decide if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Just checked the flow... 130cfs. Definately should look into Waterton instead. At 130 it will be a boring run if you are 3+/4- boater. Not worth garilla paddling to get to the chutes. is offline   Reply With Quote

I've got 2 runs on the chutes and one on Waterton, at 130 cfs it's hard to get into the eddy above the chute, big rock shelf that you can't really get up on. Wait for more flow, minimum 180, Waterton is just shy of 300. Only the bottom half is a rapid, the upper stuff is just like Deckers.

PM me if you want to run it, it's definitely just a trip down the river, nothing to speak of. Kind of like creeking without the steeps.
