Cross Mountain weekend of 4/14
We're planning on camping at the top of the saddle above Mammoth, on that hill river left with the 'dangerous rapids ahead' sign. On the gravel road it's the last left turnoff before you reach the standard putin campsite. Planning on doing two runs each day.
Darren and I are taking a couple of our creaturecraft projects from the shop that we finished over the winter out. We are going to test a 10'6" G2/G4 hybrid and a 10" widened prototype of a 14' G2/G4 hybrid raft. The level at time of post is 2700cfs and in ten days could still be around the commercial limit (3500cfs).
Don't worry, we took the short G2/G4 two seater out on Westwater a couple of times to give it a good beating during the all important March Madness. At least we know that one floats! But then again, so does.. on the upside, we are going regardless of level and I understand that this particular level is a cutoff point for many - for good reason. It gets gnarly from there on, and only more so as level goes up.
That being said, if anyone wants to go, please do so and join us. We can definitely run safety for you if you need.
