Cross Mountain again on 5/6-5/7, come on, who wants to go?
Last weekend (4/22-23) was a blast up at cross. It ran at 4200 on saturday and around 5500 on sunday; We laughed all of the way down the canyon; the water level was not mean yet. Mammoth flushed you out center left rather quickly, snakepit kept us for a short surf and we did two consecutive backflips going into a barrel roll in sherm's hole. Oh, and on saturday night Darren and Jason did a midnight run. One broken paddle, but OMG... it was AWESOME!!! We ran out of beer way too early.
Beware that water on the Yampa is running a little large for the average rafter in Cross. There are now the large holes that can flip you but are also surf-able. Anyone wanting to raft/yak with us or even try out a creaturecraft is aways welcome to show up.
