Coming out July 4th week

Haven't been out for 4 or 5 yrs or kept up w/ the snow pack or recent weather ...sure could use suggestions.... will be looking for III/IV water either up north along the Poudre or down the Arkansas. With only a long week, we won't try too wide a driving range. Personally, I'd go to the Taylor and stay ALL week... if it was running.

I'm fairly new to using Mountain buzz even thou a long time member..... excuse me if I come across like a newby with an elevator short of making all floors. I know I've got to post vs just read ... but it not easy. Thanks

Hard to say for sure, but it's unlikely that the Poudre will have much water left by then. The Ark will have started flow augmentation, but this was basically a drought winter and almost all the snow has already melted, so it's not going to be high, or even a respectable medium flow either (although there is lots of fun to be had at low water...). The Taylor will be running, but at a low flow as well. The expectation is that they will continue to release 250 from Taylor Park Reservoir all summer.

III-IV options for the Ark in July include Granite, Pine Creek and Numbers. Fractions, BV town run, Browns, Parkdale and the Royal Gorge. Taylor Canyon is close, and there will be water in Shoshone near Glenwood Springs. Also Foxton on the South Platte has artificial plumbing and a good chance of flowing while your here.

GARNA’s mission is to foster stewardship of the resources of the greater Arkansas River region through education, volunteerism and experiences.

Thanks, Logan. Coming out to the high country may just be enough.
