Cemetery, Filter Plant, CO near Glenwood, L. Eagle this week

Anyone up for any of the above, or something along those lines?

Thinking Wednesday at the moment, but other days may work...

I'm planning to run filter plant on wed. I'm taking one of my buddies that is new to the sport. Though the more the merrier. We're planning on running it in the afternoon. Let me know if you want to hook up and run in a larger group.

Hey Scott,

Still no job? We paddled the Upper Eagle a few weeks ago with Dave. I will be free Friday and am looking for something to paddle. Any of the above runs would be fine. Let me know.

Tony the Steamboater??

Tony, if you are one and the same, lets run something on the Upper Eagle on Friday, after work. I can be to the Beaver Creek Lot (by Bob Bridge) or to River Bend by around 5.30pm.

Either shoot me an email (preferred at safety"at"coloradowhitewater.org) or post back here.

Later.

P.S. - Scott, I am taking a CWWA cruise on Lower Eagle this Saturday, if you are interested since the safety class was a wash. Let me know.

Hi!
I am in WY and my boyfriend and Iare headed to Fort Collins on Thursday night. We want to run the Filter Plant run on Friday but neither of us have done it. He is new to the sport I have been Kayaking for about 3 years now. It would be fun to meet up with people who have done it before and/or could give us other Class II/ III- suggestions in the area for Saturday. Can anybody help with directions to the take out and put in? Or any river features to be aware of?

Thanks so much!

Still no job, though haven't been working that hard on it either.

Let's be in touch between now and Friday. The Upper is running at about twice what we did it before...I guess that could be good or bad.

Philip:

Do you know what the upper eagle is like at current level? When we ran it earlier, it was more in the 9-950 area. At that time I likened it a bit to Foxton, a bit more technical, rocky III type. Though, after having run Foxton again two weeks ago, I would say Foxton is more technical.

Thanks for the invite for the cruise. I'll let you know if I can go, but I think I'm backcountry skiing this weekend.

Jen:

check allaboutrivers.com, might have some beta there...

Otherwise, if you're looking at spending much time coming to CO to boat, you might want to pick up Colorado Rivers and Creeks (CRC). Beyond that, you'll head out on Hwy 14, west, toward Cameron Pass. Take out for filter plant is Picnic Rock...it is marked by a sign. Put in isn't really marked, but it's below the filter plant (hence the name), and there is parking on the opposite side of the road, and a wooden staircase that drops into the water. It's all pretty straight forward, mostly II type stuff. One drop, mad dog, is considered III, I guess, but it's quite short. At higher water, you can stay river right and avoid the two larger rocks, or you can just split them.
