cataract take out & camps ?

hi all,
has anyone been down cataract lately? we are launching from potash sept. 22. were wondering how the dirty devil takeout is? (never used or seen it before) can you back a trailer into the river?
also, any info on camps below imperial? maybe around dark canyon area? planning to camp at the bottom of the rapids and motor out, so we need one camp in that lower section. none of us have been down in the last 5 years. any recent/first hand info would be appreciated.
as always, thanks for the help.

Yes, you can back a trailer down at Dirty Devil. We had a guy do it on 8/15.

Don't count on a camp below Gypsum. We were told there was one at Sheep Canyon that did not exist. This was a great dissapointment as we were rowing out and discovered this at dark. Ended up spending a night on the boats w/o even touching the bank. NPS updates the campsite sign in sheet for available spot due to the changing lake level.

There are two camps at Gypsum a short distance from where the rapids end (for us in mid-August this was at Waterhole Canyon). We were at the left camp. Great place to have a Paco Pad Slip-n-Slide!

10cent camps are nice. Pretty good camp at the start of narrow canyon on river left after left bend.

When the Lake drops for the winter (not sure when that starts) there will be some newer camps. We camped at Sheep this spring after the Lake dropped a bit. It was an interesting camp. It felt like a lunar surface. Even when the lake was low this year though the last "nice camp" was at Gypsum. I really liked the camp in the middle of the last rapid below Imperial. Not sure if it lost or gained sand during high water this year.

Have a great trip.

There are a couple of possible camps at Narrow canyon - it was nice to have a really short take out day, and the sunset over the Henry mountains was wonderful.
