Cataract Canyon Shuttle Advice

Planning a Cat trip launching from Potash on July 1st. Any recommendations on shuttle companies? Looking for one that runs a bus from Powell to Moab, not car shuttling. Any idea on rates, etc.

Try Blackhawk Transportation in Blanding. I don't know about a bus, but they were the most reasonably priced "shuttle company" I talked to. Maybe thats because they aren't a shuttle company.

Fly!!! I don't remember the name, but there used to be a pilot that would fly you from the takeout back to moab. Just unload at potash and then run your shuttle prior to launching. From what I remember it really wasn't any more expensive than hiring drivers, plus it's way more fun. Anybody else know the name, or who to call?

I think we used Red Tail Aviation. The dude picked us up at Hite and landed us at Mineral Bottom. Pretty ride up the river and dropping over the rim to land was wicked. Don't think they let you land there anymore.

I forgot the name of the company, but the cheapest I remember was about 175 $ per car from Potash to Hite. I think I just Google searched Cataract Shuttle or something.

Cat shuttle

I have used Road runner shuttle in Moab, they will bring a 15 passenger van with racks and a huge trailer for about $450 or a bus for something like $650, not a bad deal for large groups. Jim (the owner) is a great guy has has done a few shuttles for me and even waited an extra coupple hours last time at the Dirty Devil takeout as we had to contend with 25 mph head winds from Dark Canyon down. Road Runner's number is 435-259-9402.
Green river aviation also does vehicle shuttles as well as air shuttles (go figure...) In my opinion the van shuttle beats a car shuttle, it is cheaper, easier, and makes those flat water beers taste better since you have a DD....
