Ha! I changed my early Cat trip to a verde trip. I live in Moab, and today it was 32 degrees in the shade all day. The river will defintily be ice free by then, its already clearing up, but still COLD. Lake is low enough that you probably won't need a motor.
After the rapids , which should be under 10k cfs, try and hike up Bowdie canyon. very cool. Its a wet hike, but worth it. Clear creek is nice if you have the time, and a dry hike, but bowdie is better. Rapid 10 will have the best kayak play spot, and a giant eddy/beach on right below. You should plan on hiking the dolls house from brown betty-first camp below first rapid on right. Weather will be cool enough for an all day hike.
Indian creek will have running water too. Should be plenty of beaches everywhere above the lake, don't know what the lake camps will belike. Be sure and post to let us know if you see any on the lake.
In general, weather is usually nice, but its been pretty stormy here this winter. Weather when it comes stays for 1 to 3 days. Be prepared for some crap. Too cold for water to come up to scary levels.
