Camping in the forest here can be great! The only issue is that on May 1 the new "road closures" go into effect. No closed roads will be marked. There could be camping on one side of the road or both. Don't worry though, you can find out what's legal or not by the F.S. map that is so convoluted, I after 25 years of roaming this place have a hard time figuring out what is ok and what is not. A year ago I could have been much more helpful as you could pretty much camp anywhere. Best advice is to look at the online map for the Coconino and find someplace close to a major road so you know you are safe.
DRYING OUT QUICKLY, ULTIMATE CAMPFIRE SAFETY, PLEASE!!
