Several great class IV-V runs I want to hit on a 7-12 day boating roadtrip through WY. Camping kayaking, maybe hike/climb backpack a couple days in tetons.

tenitive plan:
Leave Vail for Steamboat anytime after the 12th.
Steamboat creekin 1-2 days
Encampment river CO-WY border IV+ full day
Upper and Lower Gross (III-IV) near Jackson Hole 2 days scenic wilderness overnight possibly
snaggletooth on greys section 1/2 day
hike backpack in tetons 1-2 days
Bitch Creek Driggs ID IV+ full day
Return ...paddle podure,,big south, hmm?

I have realible 4x4 for trip.

If your fun and class 4-5 itchin for some non-colorado paddleing this summer, this could be a sweet trip!

At the risk of offending our fine Buzzard sisters, I can't help myself....

What's the difference between a whore and a bitch?

A whore sleeps with everybody. A bitch sleeps with everybody but you.

My apologies, ladies....

Vail is posh on the ratio, Breck too.
The hard living is Dillion/Silverthorne for that area.
No way man. D-town and the Thorne are full of good looking Summit High Girls.

Wow good to see such a response for "bitches" and "slc" though no takers on a the road trip. I've been paddling & camping the last 5 days so I haven't had the chance to partake in petty discussions. SLC would only be for a winter. colorado and other areas are much better in the summer. I'm rerouting the trip to animas, praying the water can hold on..see recent post.

to Jensjustduckie and other grammer-critizer man bashers out there, all I can say is that making a judgement on someones relationships based on one line you read in a kayak forumn is just plain foolish. Also I'm a published author but i don't meticulusly proof-read formum posts. As far as my education, I got in Golden.

I'm sorry you are hurt. Breaking up, regardless of who does it, is never easy. I hope the trip puts your mind at ease.

Let's all leave the bashing out of this and move on. Neither of you deserves it.

He's an engineer. That explains everything, especially his spelling.

I grew up in Utah, North of SLC in Davis County. And after 18 years, I had had enough. I chose war as opposed to staying in Utah any longer and signed up for the military at the end of 1991. By the time I actually entered active duty in 1992, Desert Shield had turned to Desert Storm and 100 hours later it was all over and I didn't see a war zone until I went to Bosnia. But I digress...

You couldn't get me to move back there for nothin'! Yeah, the skiing kicks ass over anything Colorado has to offer; sure Colorado gets a good powder day here and there, but it's daily in Utah. 1-inch of precipitation in Colorado will produce 9-12 inches of snow, but in Utah it will produce 15-18 inches of light, fluffy pow-pow. But I still won't go back to live, only brief visits.

Utah south of I-70, that's a whole different place. Not the same state really. Much better, and the women are more into being outside. The northern women are much too much into being in at the mall, or pretending to like church and dragging you there to gain mommy and mommy and mommy and daddy's blessings. (Polygamy joke) ---Unless you are in Park City--- Mormons like to say they are "In the world, but not of the world." Park City's unofficial slogan is: "In Utah, but not of Utah." Go there. Party like a rock star.

I live in Park City. For a place to raise a family it is ideal. The cost of living is alot less than many Colorado resorts and the proximity to the city is awesome. The snow totals just stomp Colorado. The down side of that is there is not alot of good moguls.

For boating, it is not as good here. To far to everything and just not the epic quality I had in my backyard in Colorado. All things said, it has been a very good move for us. If I was still single, it may have been different. As far as the LDS thing, they are awesome neighbors and good people. You might have a different impression if you lived outside SLC or PC.

Don't come here to boat, but if your looking for an awesome place to hit the back country and five or six great ski areas within an hour of your house, then it is worthy of consideration.
