I had the will to do it. With the gushing self-sufficiency of youth I was feverish to plunge in headlong and achieve a great reform here... until I saw the Mormon women. Then I was touched. My heart was wiser than my head. It warmed toward these poor, ungainly and pathetically 'homely' creatures, and as I turned to hide the generous moisture in my eyes, I said, 'No, the man that marries one of them has done an act of Christian charity which entitles him to the kindly applause of mankind, not their harsh censure, and the man that marries sixty of them has done a deed of open-handed generosity so sublime that the nations should stand uncovered in his presence and worship in silence.' NICE!! Very well written!! Where did you find that so quick??

Oh god dude....don't do it!!! Stereotypes are established with good foundation. Personally went through a "phase" or should I say "wierd succession"...all blondes...all ended strangely.

NO OFFENSE to blonde boating ladies out there......you're a different breed than the materialistic, dependent, dittzy group I dealt with. Just being a goof.....

It is my favorite Mark Twain quote. I grew up in Western Colorado, with plenty of Mormons around, and when I read "Roughing It" I almost choked when I read that. "Roughing It" has to be one of the funniest books ever.

Behind the Zion Curtain lurks the specter of Mormon hegemony. If nothing else, it provides rent control, because if SLC was objectively evaluated on its merits; CO ski areas would be barren. Good start paddling in Southern Idaho, you'll get a feel for the people and their peculiar ways. Wallace Stegner's Mormon Country is an examination of the LDS faith and the land, it is a close second to Twain's work.

Ratios and Mormons aside drop me a line when you are around Jackson.

I have Wednesday and Thursdays off and am always looking for people to paddle with.

Maybe she did something to deserve the flaming?

To quote an ex-gf, "You like boating more than me"

Vail is posh on the ratio, Breck too.
The hard living is Dillion/Silverthorne for that area.
