Boulder Newbie Boating

So I recently bought a boat and have acquired a pool roll. I feel like I have decent balance and I get back over 75%+ of the time but have yet to take the boat out to moving water. I don't know any other boaters in Boulder but can shuttle myself a bit.

So, what I'm looking for is a good place, perhaps on the town run of Boulder Creek, to get my feet wet. Any suggestions on where should I put in, practice ferries and eddy turns, and take out?

Or, would anyone mind me tagging along?

I would suggest the library area, just upstream of Broadway. Park in the library lot, you can carry upstream past the library a bit and float down through 2-3 tame drops with eddys and a couple of pools to roll in. Easy to eddy out before Broadway and do it again.
