Boating partners next week!

My wife and kid are leaving town this Friday and will be gone for a week! So.... I got a week off to boat, I live in Summit and will travel all week if possible. I would love to get a run in on the Taylor. Im a class 3 boater with a solid pool roll and a ok river roll and good dry gear! Im looking to get in as many class 3 runs as I can starting Friday about noon. Any interest?

I will be doing some class III boating on the Arkansas this weekend. It is also Fibark weekend, as good a reason to travel as I can think of. If you do get on the Taylor this weekend be careful, it is crankin @ like 1200. I ran it from Lotus Creek down @ around 600 last year and that was a pretty solid level. The Taylor has a pretty narrow channel and I wouldn't be surprised if most the rapids were washed out.

I spent quite a few days in the late 90s on the Taylor. Back in the day when she ran 900-1200cfs good fun. FIbark sounds like the place to be this weekend. How was Lotus creek? Have'nt herd of anyone running that lately. Do you know if Lotus is in the New Test?

Right on, Lotus down was fun. A little more continuous and manky than the stuff below the Slot. The only thing that sucked was the scowls we got from every fisherman we came across, and we tried to move to the other side of the river and be friendly, one guy even yelled "Hey, get the hell out of here, your not supposed to be up here!" But the guys at Three Rivers warned us that would probably happen. It's not in the New Testament, I got my beta from Eddy Flower and Three Rivers.

I'll be around Sat 14th-Tue, maybe Wed as well. Only 2nd year Kayaking but I'm confident with pool/river rolls. Are you going to run the Lower Blue at all? I haven't run it yet, but would like to since I live near the take out. I could travel a couple of days.
