I have a middle fork permit and run a 13.6' boat with 2 bays. I am boating solo in my raft. Most of the people I am rolling with have 15-16' boats and will be carrying the kitchen ect. I think the plan is every boat cooks 3 meals one day each. I have done lots of 2-3 day trips in this boat but no 7 day trips. Any advice on how to rig it up nice? I was planning on carrying less beer more liquor. Should I roll 2 coolers and a dry box? If thats even possible? dry box and one big cooler? two big coolers? dry box, big cooler, and a med sized cooler? Buy a keg and roll one cooler and one dry box? Run as many coolers as possible with as much booze as possible?
Are you carrying communal gear, or just your own? If you're only carrying your own, you should have way more than enough room for that trip.
Is it a three, or two bay frame? If it's three, I would sit on a dry box, leave the rower's bay open and put a big cooler in front. Then, evenly distribute gear front and rear to keep it balanced. If it's really only two, I would sit in a cooler and put everything else in dry bags.
I run a 13ft Trib with dry box in front, cooler behind that, slung rocket boxes in the rower's bay, and sit on a lowback NRS seat on a single tube - Little gear in front of the dry box on the floor, lots in the rear in an everything bag. Also have side decking that I strap first aid, day cooler and repair Pelican cases to. I can easily support two people for a week with this setup.
Hope this helps!
