I have never run the pouder, but have a nephew that will be taking a raft trip down the Pouder on July 15th with his boyscout troop. I have to drive from Breckenridge to pick him up after his raft trip. Since I have to drive there anyway, I want to raft the pouder - most likely in my shredder. Sounds like the boyscouts are rafting from "Stevens to Bridges" according to the gal at the rafting company. So, I was thinkin that I'd raft the same stretch - but not with them - don't want to embarass my nephew!!
I checked out the buzz for beta, am comfy with the class, but the directions to the put-in seem a bit vague...so, the question is: Should I raft a longer stretch than they indicated they are? I want to avoid any class V I think...and on the Stevens to Bridges stretch what might I need to know? Will it be easy to hitch a shuttle? I am comfy reading and running up to solid class IV. If it's nearing class V I want to scout and wouldn't want to run solo, unless there are plenty of other boaters on the run. I don't know if it's a busy river or not. What needs scouting and how do I recognize it. Any buzzards want to boat it with me? I might need a shredding partner if I can't find one to come with me
...send all the beta. Thanks.
