Barrel Sunday 10/9. Sunny and 55f

Friend and I are running Barrel tomorrow, hoping for somebody to join us. Should be warm and sunny compared to Gore/Bailey, forecast is for 55 degrees and sun. It's a good level for first timers right now as well, V-, everything is easily scouted or portaged.

Hoping to meet at 11:30 at grizzly. Post that you're going or give me call 970.471.0666 Erik.

Sweet. See you at grizzly at 11:30. I think we've paddled together before, I'll have Lance with me.

FYI - Barrel had a lot of movement in it this spring, all the rapids are different and many features are gone. Overall it is alot easier and more fun, atleast at the levels we just ran it at (1900 with the powerplant off). Upper death looked alot more manageable than last year although we all still portaged. Life after was easier with less water going under the house rock. Barrel rapid is now a 4 move section rather than 3. The entry hole is much smaller and easier. The second move boats much easier than it looks, we went left of center. The third is an easy-boof pourover. 3 of 4 paddlers skirted the final move on the right, but the one that went left-center made it look super easy. Hoping to run that line next time down.

Oh yeah and the big pourover down below has totally changed, again easier. Scout and run the right line on the right.

Don't misread this though, it's still serious whitewater with bad swim consequences. Hope to see you out there.

hey is the hanging lake exit open yet??
it was closed last time i was there like 3weeks ago.

All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.
