Mike ,

It is just something to do .You're right it is a lot of driving for just Fossil. If the choice was Fossil or Zion that's a no- brainer. You would talk shit about how easy most of those others are too.Upper Fremont is your type of run.I'd like to do 6th Water when it is hot out, hell it might be frozen now.Done the Westwater "ice breaker" and 'frostbite ' runs before, that's a toss up with Fossil,at least Westy is closer.Bob wants to drop that falls.

There are other fun runs in that area around Strawberry, AZ. You'll be able to see the creeks running on the way there. The Gila and the Verde could be running, as well. Have fun!

Don't mind CasperMike... He thinks his shaky videos are the best...

Verde,Oak , and Tonto, are the logical runs to combine with Fossil.West Clear Creek [lwr] now there's a wood fest,Beaver's easy has some ruins,Wet Beaver above the run in Tyler's book ;scouted that after 100 yr.flood in'98 should have 1d'd it then,East Verde park n'huck gnar? or at least the class 4s below it,are some other options[ if water].

Done the Gila wilderness run,far from everything else mentioned.People talking about 'too easy' definitely don't want to do that.Good camping/scenery and truly remote wilderness. That middle canyon is a little better if you can catch it.

The issue is not that its easy its that it is awful - in my opinion the run is just not worth doing especially with the drive - someone would have to tie me down and drag me back there. It is far and away my least favorite run/day of kayaking ever, but you might enjoy it. (Im mostly bitter because fossil broke my boat)

To each his own Brian. There are a lot of mixed feelings about Fossil ,that's for sure. It's an odd run and I'm a funky boater.I actually love Lefthand, Bear Creek, manmade urban mank, and obscure runs.Want to do Turkey,Tarryall,So.CLP, and Grape Of course i do normal runs more often.Fossil from the 20 ftr. to Powerhouse with decent flow would entertain most boaters.Low or driving all the way there for just Fossil is a different story.

That's right Mike ,I'm headed for the tanning booth as soon as they finish my pedicure "faster Serge'',and I eat only portobello mushrooms, salmon mousse, flax seed, and Zima.Isn't there an ovine that needs your help over a fence somewhere ,so you can get your backwoods freak on.....jeez

If that gauge is right I am screwed. eddyflower says 455cfs with 35% of that being in fossil. it cant be at base flow, it is spring time. I am only asking for about 100cfs anyways 400 would be too much for some of the people going down. this is a season starter for us, not season ender.

luke and spee-diddy will keep us posted. get some boys, see you.

cayo, I got the book and I have a few back up dancers if fossil falls out which I am sure it will not.

It can't be base flow? Have you been to Arizona? The fossil creek drainage has about as much snowpack as my back yard. The sad truth is that Arizona is only a good paddling destination during very wet winters, and this is not a very wet winter.
