No worries, Eric. When you're checking out the carnage on creaturecraft.com, be mindful that the extremely crazy stuff is mostly done by Darren, myself or people who have been using these rafts and learned how to use them over a period of 'years', after having rafts/kayaks before, for years as well.
Turns out, mr.-sweaty-nuts-who-loves-tubers-so-much, forgot that the carnage-crew took the tubers to the top of Applesauce last year at the Gore Canyon race (yes, Darren and I gave them all a ride from the putin). Not only were they a great and extremely athletic group of guys (CU swimmers, who knew?), but also did they demonstrate the size of their Nuts by doing backflips into the hole of gore/ginger. Anyone else 'ballsy' enough to do that? I am not ballsy enough for that move, that's for sure. Let them stand on accord of their own actions, as for my balls are not made out of titanium, yet theirs may be.
Additionally, CreatureCrafters are the only ones who *consistently* do Cross Mountain (5000cfs - 12000cfs!), Gore Canyon, Barrel Springs and Westwater over the "conventional" water limit. Not only do we do it *all* the time, but we're loving it and are not afraid of getting surfed in a hole. Most of the time we're learning/showing people how to surf in class IV, V and VI holes!! How many people do you know that surf class III+, smile and look for another beer in the cooler? Be honest, it's few, if any. Last two years I raced Gore with a cooler and with beer in it. Yes, also I spent 6 minutes in Toilet bowl while people watching filled their pants, how weird is that? I'm laughing and they are freaking out, how is that possible?
Remember when the snowboarding people freaked out the skiing community... this feels similar
Point being made here is that either you show up and do it in whatever you have with you, get on something worthwhile, or quit crying. Would love to take mr sweaty nutsack on a class IV-V run to see what the result is. You up for it, sweaty nuts? I mean that nicely, bro! Come on sweaty-nuts and do Barrel with me this weekend, I would love to have an R2 partner without fear.
Fwiw, CreatureCraft is actually a CO company run by 3-4 people who have regular day-jobs and put their money/effort into R&D, patents, glue, inflatables, beer and a good time. So this is not a big corporate effort by any means. Yeah, we're just regular 'smelly' river people just like everyone else..., so if you need to give your own state and those who are trying to give it a go a bunch of sh*t and put them down, please quit while you're ahead.
Much river love to all that enjoy the runoff; see you there!!! , yes?
