I'd be interested in going as well, but you don't say the dates. I've done this stretch twice (last summer was the last time), and I have my own 14ft with all the goods. Been boating 9 years. I'm going to be rafting in CA beginning of the month, so let me know if you still need people and what the dates are. It's a beautiful stretch.

I choose the road less traveled. Now where the hell am I?
If you can deal with some idiosyncracies, I'm your guy. I do most of my boating in the nude, and I drink heavily starting in the morning while boating, but I do have solid river experience. My girlfriend would obviously need to accompany me. She also boats in the nude and also drinks heavily, but is really a charming person. Message me if you're interested.
My bros & I can bring our own cats: a 16, 17.5, & a cutthroat. I've got plenty enough experience to get hung up on that darn rock in Hell's Half Mile. We're all-around Na-erdewellers & No-goodnicks, but group effort type campers, & pretty stylie with the chow. Have a giant kitchenbox. How many people do you have room for? I would like to bring a certain Bow Betty with me bringing our bunch to between 2-4, depending on who has to stay & work. Even if we don't go, think about planning 3 more days & starting @ Flaming Gorge, it's about 50 river miles to Brown's Park launch, beautiful, less people once you get past the first seven miles, and full of Trout as big as your calf. Oh, and BOOFINGTON--You are awesome. I think you spilled your own beans, however, 'cause they're just hangin' out there. Hah! Seriously, the rangers have computers too, & they're river folks, so 2 and 2 huh?
I'd like to go,let me ask ColoradoKingofalldouchesboatman if my Aire is a good enough boat to take. I don't want all those "moving parts" breaking on me out there. Duurrrrrrrr
Oh,you said Lodore,i've already ruled that river and doin it again on the 5th. One of my favorite floats
WE'RE STILL CONSIDERING PERSONS INTERESTED IN OARING OUR RAFT
We've had several replies, thanks. What we're interested in is someone who can oar a 16ft self-bailing raft with 2 of our people and gear plus yours thru the rapids of Lodore Canyon. We did it in mid-August, 06, so we know the situation. We are 5 persons, 3 who want to paddle an IK (inflatable kayak). The other 2 can't oar the raft. We'd like to oar a rapid of our chose but prefer the IK. We'll rent the raft mentioned or yours if it works for our situation.
So if this works for you, let me know.
I am seriously interested in joining your crew. Are there still any spots open? If not how 'bout a sub list.
thanks,
Kevin

A friend has a permit to float the Green river thru Dinosaur National Monument this Mid-August. It includes Gates of Lodore, Whirlpool Canyon and Split Mtn. Canyon to the Split Mtn. campground. We've done it before and are looking forward to doing it again.
We would like to invite someone who is experienced at oaring a self-bailing raft on either this stretch of the Green or is skilled enough to do so.
It is a shared expense trip of 5 days on the river. You can bring your own raft or we can provide one. You can bring a friend, maybe 2.
We would like to have it decided by the 4th of July, because of the permit deadline and it takes alot to put this trip together.
This is a good overview, more details are available.
Let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Tom

Seems I missed the other thread (nude boating) being on the river getting our prime rib stolen by a bear, but that is another story.
I loved when everyone got naked on our Grand trip, because there were some pretty hot ladies out there. The part I didn't like was around the lunch table when a couple of the guys (not me as I don't want to impose my fat ass on anyones view) started dragging their dicks through the tuna fish, or close, close is even too much for me.
That is when the snappy pliers came out. If someone got too close, clip, clip until they got the idea or their dick tweezed.
I have to admit that some days I am twisted by the time I get rigged. But I have fallen off my raft only once or twice, maybe three times. So that is pretty acceptable with my crew.

I am sure I am too late to apply to your Lodore trip. But, I will attempt it. I have done Gates many times in the last 20 plus years. Also, it was my first river trip and introduction to kayaking. I have kayaked and rafted it. Rafting, I have done it both in a oar boat and paddle raft. Though I prefer doing it in a paddle raft, I would be interested either way. I did it last year about this time of the year. It was doing around 1200. Also, I have run it in the winter as low a 600 and during the run off a few years ago around 9000. If you will allow me to kayak it, I will be bringing a Bills Bag with minimal gear. If I am rafting it, I use a 14 foot Hyside. I have a oar frame and all the compliments for it. If you choose to use it as a paddle raft, I have enough gear (paddles and PFD's) for six people including a paddle raft frame that holds a large cooler which could house your lunches for easy access. Let me know your status. You can modify the names on the permit list at the last moment, but it has to be submitted at the main building along the highway...not at the quarry. So, let me know.
