Any heartache taking 4 year old on Stonebridge to Salida Run?

My family and I are VERY experienced rafters with a great track record for safety, maybe in part to the fact we always do our homework on runs. I typically will run stuff in my kayak then bring the family raft down a few days/weeks later.

What are ya'lls thoughts on a 4 year old doing the Stonebridge to Salida section of river in 16 foot oar boat? She has spent most of her life in that raft and has well over 500 river miles with us! Any issues with; 291 Bridge (II-) or Squaw Creek Rapid left hand push/bend (III) and then I think the Shavano Hatery Low Head Dam with its boat shoot on river left. How big is that shoot too??? 16X7 ft boat issue?

I was told by some Salida locals this is the family fun float for locals and we would be fine, but want all the facts and opinions before doing it.

You will be fine, there is a big tree in the middle of squaw creek but that is not the line and is easily avoided on the left.

The boat chute at the dam is easy and is marked well on the left.

The biggest hazard is the whitewater park in town, I pull my son out above the park behind the bike shop and run the hole solo or another parent to the takeout.

Took my son down that run in a duckie a few years back, if you feel uncomfortable about the chute, just have the little guy walk to the bottom of the chute, no biggie. You'll do fine, it's a great run for a little one. Agreed about the town section, that would be my only concern as well.
Discover Denver, stay there!
