I am avidly watching and have a group of about 4 others watching as well. I will post a zion trip soon as it gets a solid 400 plus. PS There is much snowpack in those hills so it WILL run good and for a while this year!

I was just through there last week and it was still low. Got pounded with snow on the drive out.

I am watching it too. I'll make a run back for the Narrows this year.....

So I have read all the posts and searched the internet, how tough is the narrows run? As far as I can tell it is 16 miles and no more than class IV. But once you are in there, your in there. I am going to be inthe Moab area later in April and could maybe head over there 24-26. Anyone have plans for a trip around that time that I could hook up on? I would love to paddle through that place.

The book beta on narrows says easy class III. Higher water is IV- and I think it mensions portages and scouts are possible pretty much everywhere. In terms of remoteness and comittment you are right in a slot canyon, game on. Don't think it wise to go on this one alone while probing your first decent!

I have never done the slot, but by late april I think I will have at least once. If not I will be up for the run by then. Send me a message in late April and wife and I will probe it for you!

Along with probing with timberman, you can probably find some regulars or newbies alike on the Utah Forum .

I was hoping to get there this weekend but sounds like the run off is a few weeks away ... the 24th could be ideal.
