Someone stole my Wave Sport Zero Gravity 48 from the back of my pickup on Sunday afternoon. We were parked at the turn-out just upstream from Lower Narrows. The thieves left a Kinetic and an Overflow untouched, which makes me think they were actually boaters and not just local trash. (Although the fact that they also stole my really stinky paddling shorts would imply a lack of experience with the boating environment...).
Please beware of anyone attempting to sell a near-new ZG 48, navy blue, serial-number WSD15485D404. There are other subtle identifying-marks that I'd rather not disclose, that will allow a positive ID if it turns up. If someone contacts you, be sure to get a name, number, or vehicle license plate.
I've been paddling in the front range for more than 25 years, and I've never had to worry about someone stealing my gear. This was a brazen snatch (we were about 100 feet away) and I'm dismayed at the state of our sport. Kayakers are a community; we look out for each other and share a bond born of mutual dependency in the face of a dangerous undertaking. So HELP ME FIND THIS BASTARD!!!
